The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has inaugurated a 10-member committee to oversee the construction of the party’s office complex for the region.
The committee has been tasked to acquire a land, secure funds and also to ensure a successful execution of the office complex, which when completed, would be the first for the region.
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Nzemahene who is a member of the committee, donated 1000 bags of cement to commence the project.
Committee members
The committee is chaired by the Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, as the representative for the constituency chairmen in the region.
The Member of Parliament for Edubiase and a deputy Minister for Agriculture, Mr George Oduro is representing MPs in the region.
Other members are the District Chief Executive of Ahafo Ano North, Madam Martina Appiah, representing all MMDCEs, the Constituency Chairman for Adansi Fomena, Mr Akwasi Nti, a Legal Practitioner,Mr Adom Appiah also acting as the regional representative of the committee.
Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei-Mensah and a retired nurse and a key member of the party Mrs Mary Sarfo Atiemo, also constituted the Council of Elders who will serve as an advisory board on the committee.
It would be recalled that Mr Wuntumi single-handedly funded the acquisition of a house at Krofrom which is currently being used as the regional headquarters of the party.
