LEKMA sacks IGF Paid Workers

Information reaching ahotoronline.com indicates that the Ledzokuku- Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) has asked all internal generated fund paid staff to reapply for their jobs.

A letter issued by the municipality to these workers which was signed by the municipal co- coordinating director, Kodjoe Dekpo stated that these sacked workers are to submit their application, CV and other necessary documentation plus a passport size picture before September 1, 2017.

This action took place yesterday, 8th August, 2017.

In a telephone conversation with a sacked worker of the assembly, he stated that there were no reasons given as to why these letters were issued.

According to them, there are over hundred workers that will be affected by this process.

Speaking to the former Municipal chief Executive of the Assembly, Hon. Amartey, stated that he expressed shock when he got to know of this development and do not believe that the action was taken based on lack of funds in the assembly but it is a political act to bring new staffs on board.

“What they are doing is dangerous and illegal, if we allow this to happen, staffs will be changed any time there is a new government”

“They should cross check to see if the workers have the necessary documentation before they are sacked or made to reapply”, He stated.
