The Black Stars technical team has extended a gesture of goodwill to the maternity ward of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, making a donation to support new mothers and their babies.
The delegation was led by head coach Otto Addo and featured Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, assistant coaches Desmond Ofei, Kim Lars Björkegren, and Alain Ravera, as well as technical advisor Winfried Schäfer. Also present were Chief of Staff Michael Osekre and Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.
An undisclosed amount was presented on behalf of the technical team and the Ghana Football Association as a contribution toward the care and welfare of mothers and newborns at the facility. Members of the team also spent time interacting with hospital staff and patients.
Speaking during the visit, Otto Addo commended the hospital for its dedication and resilience.
“Big, big respect for what you have been doing over the past year,” Addo said, assuring that the support would not be a one-off initiative.
The visit forms part of the technical team’s activities during their stay in Ghana, where they are scouting players in the domestic leagues and holding strategic meetings with the Ghana Football Association ahead of upcoming assignments.
Preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup continue to gather momentum, with the Black Stars scheduled to engage Austria and Germany in international friendlies in March as part of their build-up to the tournament.
