Provisional data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) indicates Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth slowed to 4.2% in November 2025, down from 7.1% in the same month of 2024.

Agric contribution
The Monthly Indicator of Economic Growth (MIEG) highlights mixed sector performances. Agriculture grew by 4.1%, up slightly from 3.8% last year, driven primarily by fisheries and crop production, according to Government Statistician Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu. The sector contributed 32.4% to the overall 4.2% growth, showing resilience amid steady expansion.

Industry contribution
Industry saw a sharp slowdown, expanding just 0.4% compared to 6.2% in November 2024. It accounted for 2.5% of the total growth. Dr. Iddrisu attributed the decline to reduced mining and quarrying activities, particularly a contraction in the upstream oil and gas sectors, despite gold’s strong performance last year.

Services contribution
Services led the economy, growing 6.7%—slower than 10.2% in 2024—but contributing the largest share at 57.7% of the 4.2% MIEG growth.
