Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s Cocaine Flight Allegations: “Irresponsible, Unsubstantiated and Criminal”- Sammy Gyamfi

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has fired back at allegations made by Member of Parliament Hon. Rev. Ntim Forjour, who claimed that a flight carrying cocaine had landed in Ghana.

In a strongly-worded response, Mr. Gyamfi dismissed the claims as “baseless and unsubstantiated,” stating that the MP had absolutely no evidence to support such serious allegations.

He warned that the spreading of false information, especially of such magnitude, constitutes a criminal offense in Ghana.

“This is not just irresponsible; it is criminal,” Gyamfi stated. “When someone sets out to concoct, fabricate and lie against a government without any proof, it cannot and must not be tolerated.”

Sammy Gyamfi revealed that President Mahama, in a bid to uphold transparency and accountability, has directed state security agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly.

“We will follow the law, go through due process, and get him to appear before the relevant authorities. And if he fails to provide the evidence to support his claims, he will be held accountable. That we can guarantee him,” Gyamfi asserted.

According to the Sammy, if Hon. Ntim Fordjour made the claim in error, the honourable thing to do would be to retract and apologise.

“If I were him, I would do what gentlemen do — admit I got it wrong, apologise, and preserve my honour. But if he continues on this path, making wild, unproven accusations and attacking people without evidence, then he must be ready to face the legal consequences.”

The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, concluded with a stern warning: “No one is above the law. If these allegations turn out to be malicious, frivolous, and in breach of Ghana’s laws, he will be prosecuted.”
