President Mahama Backs Initiative to Expedite Passport Processing for Hajj Pilgrims

President John Dramani Mahama has indeed thrown his full support behind the government’s initiative to expedite passport processing for Hajj pilgrims.

This move is part of the government’s broader agenda to improve service delivery for all citizens, as stated by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

To achieve this, a special passport centre has been set up exclusively for Hajj applicants, which will operate from March 4 to March 13, 2025.

The centre aims to streamline and expedite the passport application process, making it easier for pilgrims to obtain their passports.

The government has also subsidized the cost of expedited passport processing, reducing it to GH¢500 for a 32-page passport, which will be processed within just three days.

This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of many Ghanaians, particularly those embarking on the Hajj pilgrimage.

By backing this initiative, President Mahama is reaffirming his commitment to making essential government services accessible to all Ghanaians, regardless of their background.

This is a significant milestone in the country’s history, and the government’s efforts to improve service delivery are likely to be welcomed by citizens.
