President Mahama Reassures Ghanaians of Economic Recovery at The Fellowship with the Clergy

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to restoring Ghana’s economy, assuring Ghanaians that despite the daunting challenges, his administration is focused on stabilizing the economy and rebuilding confidence.

Speaking during a fellowship with the clergy, the President reflected on his first State of the Nation Address (SONA), where he laid bare the extent of economic mismanagement inherited by his government.
“As I promised during the campaign, I will be truthful and accountable to the people of Ghana about the state of the economy and the nation. It was necessary to reveal the extent to which our economy has been mismanaged,” he stated.

While acknowledging the deep economic crisis, President Mahama emphasized that his administration is not dwelling on past failures but instead working towards solutions.
“Yes, the challenges are enormous and daunting. The state of our economy is deeply concerning. But by the grace of God, with His guidance and the help of my team, I assure you—we will fix it,” he declared.

President Mahama revealed that his administration has already begun implementing strategic measures to cut down wasteful government expenditure and strengthen Ghana’s financial position.
Our immediate Priority for economic recovery is to bring down interest rates, reducing inflation, and reducing the fiscal deficit.

President Mahama assured the clergy that his government remains focused on addressing issues that truly matter to Ghanaians and pledged to implement policies that prioritize social welfare, job creation, and national development beyond economic stabilization.

President John Dramani Mahama called for unity, faith, and collective effort, urging all Ghanaians to work together towards national recovery and progress as he continues his second term in office.
