President John Dramani Mahama has called on Christian leaders to continue serving as the spiritual backbone of Ghana, emphasizing the importance of prayer, unity, and moral leadership in the nation’s journey toward renewal and development at the fellowship with the clergy.
Delivering a speech at a fellowship with the clergy, he reflected on the role of faith in governance and nation-building, quoting Ecclesiastes 9:11.
“The race is not for the swift, nor the battle for the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill, but time and chance happen to them all.” He emphasized that despite human effort, it is God who ordains victory.
President Mahama acknowledged the crucial role of the church in shaping society and urged religious leaders to continue being the voice of righteousness and progress.
“As Christian leaders, you are the spiritual backbone of our country. Your guidance, your counsel, and your intercession will be instrumental in ensuring that we stay on the right path,” he stated.
He further assured the clergy that his administration remains committed to working hand in hand with the church to foster unity, development, and moral uprightness.
President Mahama reaffirmed his dedication to Ghana’s progress, expressing deep gratitude for the unwavering support and prayers of the clergy.
“I do not take your prayers for granted. May the Lord bless you all abundantly. When I entered this arena and saw how full it was, I said, ‘To God be the glory.’ May He bless our beloved nation Ghana and grant us the wisdom and strength to build a nation that truly reflects His glory.”
President John Mahama invoked blessings on Ghana’s future, calling on all Ghanaians to join hands in building a nation that is great and strong.
