TUC calls for regulation of public service recruitment practices

Trades Union Congress(TUC)) Deputy General Secretary calls for Regulation of Public Service Recruitment Practices

Dr. Yaw Baah, the former Deputy General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), is advocating for a law to regulate public service recruitment practices.

This law would ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment process, preventing issues like late recruitment and unfair treatment of existing public service employees.

Dr. Baah’s concerns about late recruitment practices are valid, as they can have severe consequences for those already in the public service.

Imagine being asked to leave your job due to irregularities in the recruitment process. It’s essential to address these issues to maintain a fair and stable public service environment.

The TUC has been actively involved in promoting workers’ rights and fair labor practices in Ghana. Their efforts, including Dr. Baah’s advocacy, aim to create a more equitable and transparent public service recruitment process.

In related news, the TUC has also called for the establishment of a Public Services Workforce Commission to address issues like public sector pay and workforce development.

Additionally, the union has spoken out against the revocation of post-December 7 appointments, citing the devastating consequences for young Ghanaians who have secured employment in the public service.
