NAGRAT Raises Alarm Over Rising Indiscipline in Senior High Schools, Calls for Urgent Action
The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has expressed deep concern over the growing indiscipline in Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country, blaming the situation on policy directives from the Ghana Education Service (GES) that limit disciplinary measures for students.
According to NAGRAT President, Angel Carbonu, the GES directive instructing school heads to halt punishments has significantly contributed to the breakdown of law and order in schools, creating an environment where students feel emboldened to disregard rules and authority.
He called for immediate policy reforms to empower head teachers and school administrators to instill discipline while ensuring that appropriate corrective measures are in place to guide student behavior without promoting abuse.
