President John Dramani Mahama has called on the Chinese investor community to strengthen their partnership with Ghana, emphasizing the potential for mutual economic growth and prosperity. Speaking at the Chinese Lantern Festival celebration held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, Mahama reiterated that Ghana is ready to welcome foreign investment and foster sustainable economic development.

In his address, Mahama acknowledged the significant contributions of Chinese businesses to key sectors of Ghana’s economy, including construction, manufacturing, agriculture, mining, and trade. He praised the longstanding cooperation between the two nations, noting that the partnership has laid a strong foundation for future endeavours.

“The Chinese community in Ghana has been instrumental in driving growth in critical sectors of our economy,” Mahama stated. “At the same time, Ghanaian businesses are exploring opportunities in China, creating a robust economic exchange that benefits both our nations.”

The Chinese Lantern Festival, celebrated as a symbol of unity, hope, and renewal, served as an ideal setting for Mahama’s remarks. He used the occasion to highlight the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between Ghana and China, describing them as a cornerstone for future economic collaboration.

Reaffirming his vision for revitalizing Ghana’s economy, Mahama assured potential investors of a stable and conducive business environment designed to support innovation and growth. He urged Chinese investors to consider Ghana as a reliable partner for long-term ventures.

“As I said during my inaugural address, Ghana is open for business again. I extend an invitation to the Chinese investor community to explore the numerous opportunities available in our country. Together, we can create a win-win scenario that promotes shared prosperity for both our peoples,” he emphasized.

Mahama’s call comes at a time when Ghana seeks to attract foreign investment to bolster economic recovery and development. His message reflects a renewed commitment to leveraging international partnerships to drive progress and enhance the lives of Ghanaians.
