Breaking News: National Security Uncovers Massive Stash of US Dollars, Gold Bars, and Counterfeit Currency in Warehouse Raid

Accra, Ghana – In a major sting operation, National Security operatives have seized a significant haul of US dollars, Ghana cedis, and counterfeit currency hidden inside twelve 20-foot shipping containers at a warehouse around Sapeiman, in the Ga South Municipality.

The bust, uncovered bundles of US dollars concealed in wooden boxes filled with cement.

Additional search efforts revealed even more stacks of cash cleverly hidden behind plywood barriers and sealed with charcoal to evade detection.

Authorities have confirmed that while ten of the containers have been secured, two remain unaccounted for, with state security trackers actively pursuing their whereabouts.

Meanwhile, a manhunt is underway for four key suspects, including the alleged ringleader, identified only as Alhaji.

Adding to the shocking discoveries, the warehouse also contained boxes of metals suspected to be gold bars, counterfeit Ghana cedi notes in GH₵50 and GH₵100 denominations, and a stash of fake Ghana Army uniforms and boots—raising concerns about a potentially larger criminal network.

Security officials are currently investigating the origins and intended use of the seized items, with efforts intensifying to bring all perpetrators to justice.
