President John Mahama Assures: Takoradi Market Circle Contractors to Resume Work Soon!

Takoradi, Ghana – President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has assured the people of Takoradi that he will engage contractors to expedite the completion of the Takoradi Market Circle project.

During a visit to the construction site as part of his Western Regional Tour, the President acknowledged the slow pace—if not complete standstill—of the project, emphasizing its negative impact on trade and economic activities in the area.

“Takoradi and Market Circle are inseparable. We understand how crucial this project is to the people, and its delay is deeply concerning,” President Mahama stated.

He began his address by expressing gratitude to the chiefs and residents of the Western Region for their support in the 2024 elections.

“We are here to say thank you to the chiefs and people of the Western Region for their unwavering support. But before that, I wanted to visit the Market Circle to engage with the contractors and discuss the way forward.”

The President further disclosed that he will be meeting with the project contractors and the Minister of Finance in Accra this Friday to discuss the necessary steps to revive and accelerate the project.

“We will sit down to assess the challenges and implement measures to ensure work resumes without further delays,” he assured.

He also promised that the contractors would soon return to the site to complete the project for the benefit of Takoradi’s residents and traders.

“It won’t be long before you see the contractors back at work. The Takoradi Market Circle will be completed, and the people will finally enjoy its full benefits,” President Mahama affirmed.
