Accra, Ghana – Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has expressed his unwavering belief that President John Dramani Mahama is divinely chosen to bring transformation and prosperity to the lives of the Ghanaian people.
Speaking during the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service: Christian Worship and Celebration Edition at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium at UPSA, Rev. Wengam conveyed a powerful message of hope, faith, and responsibility.
“God will use you to change the welfare of Ghanaians,” Rev. Wengam declared, addressing the President with conviction. “And when that happens, let us not forget to give all the praise and glory to God.”
A Biblical Foundation for Leadership
During his sermon, Rev. Wengam referenced scripture to inspire Ghanaians, drawing parallels between biblical leaders and President Mahama’s new mandate.
He emphasized that just as God used great leaders in the Bible to guide their people to prosperity, He is now using President Mahama to steer Ghana toward progress and renewal.
“God is moving this country forward through our newly elected President,” Rev. Wengam proclaimed, encouraging the nation to rally behind its leader in faith and unity.
A Call to Humility and Divine Guidance
Rev. Wengam’s words were not only a message of encouragement but also a call to humility and gratitude.
He urged President Mahama to approach his leadership with a servant’s heart, placing reliance on God’s wisdom and guidance in making decisions for the nation.
“Leadership is a divine responsibility,” the clergyman noted. “It requires wisdom, humility, and the constant acknowledgment of God’s hand in every success.”
A Vision for a Transformed Ghana
Rev. Wengam expressed confidence that under President Mahama’s leadership, Ghana would see significant improvements in the welfare of its citizens.
However, he reminded all Ghanaians of their collective responsibility to support their leader through prayers, unity, and hard work.
“Let us not forget that while God’s favor is upon our President, we all have a role to play in building a nation that reflects His glory. Together, we can move Ghana forward,” he concluded.
A Spirit of Thanksgiving
The event served as a platform to seek God’s blessings for the new administration and the nation at large. Rev. Wengam’s message resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the importance of faith, gratitude, and unity as Ghana embarks on a new chapter under President Mahama’s leadership.
