West Ham have sacked Julen Lopetegui

West Ham have sacked manager Julen Lopetegui after 20 premier league matches.

This follows his latest 4-1 defeat to resurrected Manchester City last weekend in the Premier League.

Lopetegui replaced David Moyes in the summer after the Scot left at end of his contract.
The former La Roja boss won only six league matches and has the team 14th in table despite spending more than £130m on transfers

A club statement read: “The first half of the 2024/25 season has not aligned with the club’s ambitions and the club has therefore taken action in line with its objectives.”

The club also communicated that new manager is being considered to be appointed

West Ham added: “The process of appointing a replacement is underway.”

Graham Potter is imminently going to take over. He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract as the new West Ham manager.

West Ham have been in talks with the ex-Chelsea and Brighton boss and he could be in charge for the next Premier League game against Aston Villa.”
