A visit to Nigeria in 2023 saw Nigeria beat Galaxies 2-0 to neutralize Ghana’s first leg 2-0 win but Ghana made to the CHAN in Algeria on 5-4 penalty shootouts under coach Annor Walker.
Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-ud Dramani, fail to score last Sunday against the Soper Eagles B but believes this team will score in Nigeria in the second leg of its crucial CHAN qualifier.
“As much as possible, we will try to keep a clean sheet but I want to believe that we will surely score. We will score, we will open up something. I control the energy, the effort, I control the performance (of my boys) but the results, we don’t control it”, he said in post match presser.
Ghana hasn’t won the CHAN despite competing in two finals in the 2009 and 2014 editions.
The second leg takes place on December 28 in Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. The winner will qualify for the 2025 CHAN tournament, which is set to be hosted jointly by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
