Black Queens coach, Nora Häuptle, has turned down the Ghana job and has potentially been linked with Zambia’s women’s national team top role, per Zambian journalist Augustine Mukoka.
AhotorSports has learned the Ghana Football Association has for the past weeks, been negotiating with the Swiss but there were no headways in the contract conversations regarding renewal.
Joysports revealed that the GFA offered Häuptle a $6,000 monthly salary and a $5,000 bonus in preparation for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco in June 2025. However, she declined, reportedly seeking $12,000 instead.
There were growing frustrations for Nora and to her dismay, was the GFA’s inability to secure $40,000 for two friendly matches against Tunisia and Senegal last month.
Reports from Zambia indicate The Swiss appointment was approved by the Executive Committee of the Zambia FA on Saturday, awaiting Nora’s official signature.
She made a strong impact with her time with the Black Queens especially in the Women’s Olympic qualifiers, where she missed out narrowly to her potential employer, Zambia.
