Lordina Foundation Spreads Christmas Cheer to Orphans

Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, through her Lordina Foundation, brought holiday joy to children at the Osu Children’s Home and the Christ Faith Foster Home in Adenta on Tuesday.

Continuing a cherished tradition spanning more than two decades, Mrs. Mahama and her foundation donated essential items to support the well-being of the children and the staff at the two facilities.

The donations included a variety of food and household essentials such as bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, canned tomatoes, beverages like Milo and Nido, spaghetti, boxes of Tom Brown, sugar, biscuits, drinks, toffees, tissue paper, detergents, and sanitary pads, among other necessities.

A Legacy of Compassion

Mrs. Mahama, wife of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, has long been an advocate for the welfare of deprived children and women, focusing on enhancing access to quality healthcare, education, and overall well-being.

Through the Lordina Foundation, she has adopted several orphanages across Ghana, providing consistent support in the form of food, non-food items, and recognition for the dedicated staff who care for the children.

Speaking on behalf of Mrs. Mahama, Pastor Samuel Boateng Sarpong, a board member of the Lordina Foundation, presented the items and conveyed her heartfelt Christmas wishes to the children and staff of both homes.

A Grateful Response

The gesture was warmly received by the Home Manager of the Osu Children’s Home, Mr. Reindorf Dartey, who expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s unwavering support.

“In my six years here, we have always looked forward to hearing from our mother, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, during the festive season. Her kindness and generosity bring so much joy to the children and staff. We are truly grateful for her consistent support,” Mr. Dartey said.

Similarly, Mr. Adu Amoako, Manager of the Christ Faith Foster Home, extended his thanks to Mrs. Mahama for her steadfast inclusion of their facility in her Christmas plans. He used the opportunity to send warm seasonal greetings to the President-Elect, Mrs. Mahama, and their family.

“We pray that the new year brings joy and countless blessings to the Mahama family, just as they have brought happiness and smiles to the motherless and fatherless in our care,” he said.

Continuing a Tradition of Giving

For over two decades, the Lordina Foundation has been a beacon of hope for marginalized communities, particularly during the festive season. At least twice a year, including December, the Foundation organizes donations to orphanages across the country, ensuring that children and staff feel valued and celebrated during key moments of the year.

This year’s pre-Christmas donation reinforced the Foundation’s commitment to uplifting the less fortunate and emphasized the enduring legacy of love and compassion that Mrs. Lordina Mahama and her team continue to uphold.

As the holiday season approaches, the Lordina Foundation’s acts of kindness serve as a reminder of the power of giving and the importance of remembering those in need.
