Kunta Kinte, half of the renowned music duo Bradez, has bravely shared his 15-year struggle with a serious illness.
In a candid interview on Fakye Showbiz on December 14, 2024, the “One Gallon” artist discussed how his ordeal began with a stroke, which rendered the right side of his body non-functional.
This made walking and using his arm impossible, confining him to a wheelchair for a time. “I have been dealing with illness for the past fifteen years, but I stay motivated and hold onto the hope for full recovery. It all started with a stroke, and there was a period when I couldn’t walk or lift my arms.
I did spend some time in a wheelchair, but I didn’t let it define me. If I were to share my entire story, it would take a while,” he expressed.
Despite the hardships, Kunta Kinte highlighted those thoughts of suicide never crossed his mind. He views his experience as a motivation for others facing health challenges. “You must believe in yourself because your life is invaluable. It would be best if you kept pushing forward.
My journey inspires others who are ill to hold onto hope for their healing. I’ve never considered suicide; I always find joy in life, just as I did before,” he shared. He also addressed unfounded rumours suggesting that his illness stemmed from being involved with someone else’s girlfriend. Kunta Kinte refuted these claims, stating, “People said my sickness came from stealing someone’s partner.
However, I know how to play football, basketball, rap, and more. Since people were unaware of my condition, such rumours circulated.”
