Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Frederick Asare has taken solace in God after losing the Ahafo Ano South seat in the Parliamentary elections on Saturday, 7th December 2024.
Ghanaians went to the polls on Saturday, December 7, 2024 to elect new Ghana president and parliamentarians.
Unfortunately, the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ashantigold failed in his bid to secure a spot in parliament.
Acheampong fell short to the National Democratic Congress candidate, Yakubu Mohammed, who won the race with over thousand votes at the end elections.
With high expectations, the ace Ghanaian sports journalist was hopeful of victory. Unfortunately for him, his ambitions has hit a snag.
He will have to wait for the next four years having failed in his first attempt.
Meanwhile, the experienced football administrator will now turn his attention to football activities.
Below is his statement
Dear Patriots,
We lost the elections.
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped me with my campaign. I especially want to thank the voters in Ahafo Ano South East Constituency who voted for me and placed their confidence in me wanting me to be their Member of Parliament. I am humbled and honored”
In January, when I won the NPP Primaries, a well thought-out plan was devised that would take Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and I to victory on Election Day, regardless of the opponent. That plan included pushing for the communities without electricity to be connected to the national grid, securing telephone network access for those communities without connectivity, securing job opportunities for our youth , placing some of the youth into tertiary schools, improving the road networks, offering portable water supply to some communities, and improving the general livelihood of our people, meeting the voters face-to-face, getting my message out on a personal level, and letting the voters see just who I am. We accomplished that on many fronts. When all was said and done, I had knocked on many doors, walking the vast majority of the constituency severally. To the voters of Ahafo Ano South East, a big thank you.
This journey would not have been possible without help from my family and my many friends and supporters… and a Campaign Team who was second to none. To the several thousand voters who voted for us, we say thank you. To the individual friends who donated towards my campaign and walked with me during the last few months when you could have been doing anything but, thank you also. Yesterday, all party executives, MP, DCE, former DCE and fellow aspirants were on hand working for victory.
I can’t forget the various “FRIENDS OF ACHEE” clubs and other groups and clubs who worked tirelessly towards this election.
TEAM ACHEE & VOLUNTEERS- The committee was organized, energized and driven. Thank you.
I am very humbled by the support everyone has given me.
GOD’s TIME IS THE BEST
