The Director of Training at the Electoral Commission, Dr Serebour Quaicoo has said the EC knows nothing about Biometric Verification devices (BVDs) not working at Lomnava in the Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency in the ongoing polls.
The Electoral Commission in holding its latest press meeting to address various reported issues pertaining to the election across the country emphatically stated that no EC official on the said ground has informed the Headquarters about malfunctioning of the BVDs.
“With respect to the Lomnava BVD challenge, we have not, it has not come to our attention so we will call the officers concerned and verify and if it is true, it should be addressed”, he said
“We have the main BVD, we have a spare BVD, we have the Power Bank, and we the spare at the District and the Region”, he added
The independent Electoral Commission advises reporters and the media to rather be circumspect of the information they put across especially on social media.
“Don’t think that any information on social media is the truth, you too need to check and can be sure that what you are seeing is true”, he concluded
This was the third Press Briefing on the Election Day by the Electoral Commission in reacting to matters surrounding the voting process across the length and breadth of the country.
