The Ministry of the Interior has instructed for the temporary closure of all land borders across Ghana to safeguard the smooth running and integrity of the December 7-Election 2024: Polls open nationwide.
The directive is effective from December 6, 2024, will remain in place until 18:00 hours on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
A statement signed by Mr. Henry Quartey, Minister for the Interior, urged all citizens and travelers to cooperate with the State Security Agencies enforcing the directive over the said period.
“The Ministry of the Interior has ordered the temporary closure of all land borders as part of measures to ensure the integrity of the December 7 General Elections”-Interior Minister, Henry Quartey.
Ghana is at the crossroad democratically selecting who its leaders will be for the next four years.
