Former Coach of Bechem United head coach Bismark Kobby Mensah believes government must support the clubs financially to impove the quality of the league.
Ghana’s domestic football have been on the rough road for some time now. Bedevilled by player exodus and betting scandals the league has lost its spark and authenticity. The problem continues to exist due to financial constraints. Coach Bismark Kobby Mensah insist intervention from government remains the best solution to the existing problems.
“It is not a good thing if results can be predetermined in a league because sponsors or investors will shy away. I cannot talk too much about it because i don’t have evidence. Without support it will be difficult to run a football club in a professional way. Imagine not cashing out on player transfers for close to five years. This is why government must support the clubs”
The decline of Ghana football has also culminated in low standards of its domestic flight. The Domestic flight returns next week aftermath of the general elections which comes on 7th December 2024.
