Former National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has voiced his alignment with the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, affirming their collective stance against any election results that do not genuinely reflect the will of the people.
Speaking with Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor FM passionately, Dr. Ofosu Ampofo emphasized the NDC’s commitment to upholding electoral integrity, stressing that the party would not tolerate any form of manipulation or injustice during the election process. He urged party members and supporters across all regions to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding the democratic process.
“I fully agree with President John Dramani Mahama: we will not accept any election outcome that undermines the voice and choice of the people,” Dr. Ofosu Ampofo declared. He called on NDC supporters to document and report any irregularities, particularly activities involving alleged machomen or any other actions that could disrupt the credibility of the elections.
Dr. Ofosu Ampofo reiterated the need for accountability and evidence-based advocacy, encouraging party members to use their smartphones and cameras to capture any acts of intimidation, violence, or fraud. He expressed confidence in the NDC’s readiness to defend the sanctity of the electoral process, warning those who might attempt to subvert the will of the people that the party is prepared to confront any challenges head-on.
“The power of the people is stronger than any force that seeks to silence their voice. We must be resolute, organized, and steadfast in our pursuit of a free and fair election,” he concluded.
