John Mahama Criticizes NPP Over Neglect of Mpohor Roads, Pledges Development and Job Creation Under NDC

Former er President John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed serious concerns over the deplorable state of roads in the Mpohor Fiase area.

Addressing residents during a stop of his Western Regional campaign tour, he criticized the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for neglecting critical infrastructure in the region despite their repeated promises of prioritizing road development.

John Mahama pointed out that since the NPP assumed power, they have dubbed every year as the “Year of Roads.”

However, he noted with disappointment that the Mpohor Fiase road appears to have been completely excluded from these initiatives.

He described the lack of progress in the area as alarming, questioning whether the people of Mpohor even have parliamentary representation.

He emphasized that development should be a priority for any government, not a tool for political manipulation.

“Development is not about handing out goodies on election day; it’s about consistent and meaningful investment in the lives of the people,” he stated.

He urged Ghanaians to reject the NPP at the upcoming polls, asserting that “whatever charm they had on Ghanaians will not work this year.”

John Mahama reassured residents that an NDC government would address the challenges facing the region, particularly the poor state of roads.

He also outlined plans to tackle youth unemployment, pledging support for young people interested in ventures such as bakery, poultry farming, palm plantation cultivation, and related production industries.

These initiatives, he explained, would create jobs and significantly reduce unemployment rates.

In closing, John Mahama called on Ghanaians to place their trust in the NDC to deliver the development and opportunities they deserve, promising a brighter future under his leadership.
