John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly cautioned Ghanaians against voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections, warning that a victory for the NPP would lead to the systematic theft of the nation’s assets.
Addressing a crowd in Shama during his Western Regional tour, John Mahama emphasized that electing the NPP would be one of the biggest mistakes the country could make.
He accused some officials within the current government of engaging in corrupt practices, particularly the illegal acquisition of government land and properties.
He called on the electorate to vote for change to put an end to these alleged misdeeds.
“The NPP is stealing the country’s properties, and this must stop. Ghanaians cannot afford to allow these corrupt leaders to continue their plundering,” Mr. Mahama stated, urging citizens to take action in the December 7 elections to safeguard the nation’s resources.
The former president expressed confidence in the NDC’s chances of winning the upcoming elections, promising to reset the country’s direction and restore its economic stability.
He argued that the current NPP administration had failed to deliver on key promises and that Ghana was facing a crisis in critical sectors such as education, health, and sports.
According to John Mahama, the nation is grappling with widespread inefficiencies and neglect under the NPP’s leadership.
“Under the NPP, nothing is working,” Mr. Mahama declared. “From education to healthcare, to sports, we are seeing a total collapse. Ghanaians deserve better.”
He emphasized that the December 7 elections offer the perfect opportunity for citizens to vote for change, and he promised that an NDC government would prioritize the creation of jobs, especially for the youth.
“We will focus on creating opportunities for the young people of Ghana,” Mr. Mahama said, stressing that youth unemployment would be a top priority for his administration.
With the elections approaching, John Mahama urged Ghanaians to remain vigilant and make the right choice for the future of the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to leading Ghana back to prosperity if given the mandate in December.
