Ablakwa Expresses Disappointment Over Chief of Staff’s Dismissal of Expired Rice Allegations.

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed profound disappointment, about the remarks made by Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare describing her statement as dismissive and unhelpful in addressing a serious issue.

Ablakwa criticized the Chief of Staff’s characterization of his claims as propaganda, insisting that his concerns were based on credible reports and genuine worry for the welfare of students.

Speaking to the media, Ablakwa reiterated the importance of prioritizing student health and safety over political rhetoric.

“It is disheartening that instead of addressing the substantive issues, the Chief of Staff has chosen to label my concerns as propaganda.

This is not about politics; it is about ensuring that the students in our Senior High Schools are not subjected to substandard or unsafe food,” he stated.

Ablakwa called for an independent investigation into the alleged distribution of expired rice, emphasizing that only a transparent process would restore public confidence.

He argued that such allegations should not be dismissed outright but treated with the seriousness they deserve.

“The welfare of our students is non-negotiable. We cannot allow lapses in the food distribution chain to jeopardize their health. This is a matter that requires immediate attention, not defensive posturing,” Ablakwa added.

The controversy has sparked a heated public debate, with various stakeholders, including parents and education advocacy groups, weighing in on the matter. Many have called for clarity and accountability, urging both sides to prioritize the interests of the students above political affiliations.
