NDC presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has criticized President Akufo-Addo for unveiling a statue of himself, despite what he describes as the country’s severe economic struggles.
John Mahama argued that if statues were placed in every location where a leader made meaningful contributions, his own would be seen across Ghana due to the impactful projects he initiated during his presidency.
Speaking to a crowd at a mini rally in the Bia West constituency as part of his Western North Regional tour, Mr. Mahama noted the irony of the president unveiling a statue at a hospital site where promises of healthcare development remain unfulfilled.
He contrasted his record with that of Akufo-Addo, mentioning projects like the expansion of the Tema Port, the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, and improvements to key locations like Kejetia Market and Kotoka International Airport.
John Mahama called on Ghanaians to use the upcoming December 7th elections as an opportunity to end the current economic hardship and mismanagement.
He expressed confidence that the NDC is the party best positioned to turn around the country’s fortunes and restore prosperity.
