Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the wife of Ghanaian musician Keche Andrew and a parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, has shared how she captured her husband’s genuine love.
In an interview with MzGee broadcasted on November 13, 2024, Joana revealed that she posed as a less fortunate woman to evaluate whether Keche was truly interested in her or just after her wealth.
To ascertain his love for her, she often utilized public transport like taxis and trotro, and would ask Keche to pick her up, sometimes even requesting money for the fare. She recounted, “I didn’t know much about his personal life, and the rumors I heard made me want to confirm that he loved me for who I am. This led me to frequently ask him for fare money without giving him any prior notice, which at times left him frustrated. Through these experiences, he demonstrated his love for me.”
When Keche Andrew was asked how he ultimately learned about Joana’s ruse, he shared, “Keche Joshua was aware of her real identity all along, but he kept it to himself. One day I visited her office, and upon asking for Joana Gyan, I was shocked when I finally saw her. I was taken aback for quite some time.”
Looking back on their relationship, Andrew highlighted the importance of communication and trust, particularly when faced with external pressures and challenges.
He recalled, “There were moments when I received threatening calls from women and others spreading rumors to Joana. In some cases, I would even take her phone to confront these individuals directly, including some fellow musicians and media figures.”
He remembered a significant conversation with Joana, where he laid bare all his secrets and future plans, giving her the option to stay or leave. “She cried, and by the next morning, she chose to give me another chance.
And here we are, together.” Joana and Keche Andrew got married on November 30, 2019, after Joana’s divorce from her first husband, a British national. They have now celebrated five years of marriage.
