John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has committed to establishing Farmers Service Centers in every district across Ghana if elected.
This initiative, he explained, aims to create a comprehensive, one-stop resource hub for farmers to access critical services, supplies, and support.
Speaking at a mini rally in Akontombra, Western North Region, John Mahama described how these centers would provide essential resources, such as plowing services, fertilizers, and seedlings.
Farmers would be able to access these resources on credit and pay back after harvesting, ensuring they can prepare for each season without the burden of upfront costs.
The centers would also offer installment payment options, making services more affordable and accessible.
In addition, John Mahama promised to address water access for farmers by constructing boreholes to support irrigation during the dry season, a measure he says will boost agricultural productivity year-round.
The NDC flagbearer urged Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming elections, warning of the consequences of poor governance and urging them to reject the ruling NPP.
He argued that under the current government, hardships have increased and economic progress has stalled, while the NDC has a track record of more stable growth.
John Mahama further pledged that, under his leadership, the NDC would pursue those who have misused or stolen state funds, vowing to recover any looted resources to support national development.
He reassured voters that an NDC government would bring the positive change and economic relief they desire.
