The National Democratic Congress (NDC) officially launched its youth-focused group, the NDC Insight, on November 3, 2024, in Zenu, located within the Ashaiman constituency of the Greater Accra Region.
The new group is designed to bridge the gap between the party’s policies and the people, with a particular focus on energizing youth support, expanding grassroots outreach, and bolstering the NDC’s presence across the country.
At the launch event, Hon. Haruna Mahama, Chairman of NDC Insight, outlined the group’s core mission: engaging directly with communities to communicate the value of NDC policies and why they matter for Ghanaians.
A central focus of this effort is the NDC’s “24-Hour Economy” policy, which Hon Mahama emphasized as a transformative initiative aimed at improving opportunities for all citizens. By bringing this policy to the forefront, NDC Insight aims to show voters how NDC plans will bring positive change to the economy and daily life, making Ghana more resilient and forward-thinking.
Hon. Haruna Mahama highlighted that while the NDC Insight is a newly launched initiative, members have already begun outreach efforts. Plans are underway to expand these activities across various communities, constituencies, and regions, ensuring that by the December 7 election, the message will have reached every corner of the nation.
The goal is to ensure that voters fully understand NDC’s vision for “resetting” the country and are ready to support the party on election day.In a rallying call for unity, Hon. Mahama acknowledged that political unity within the NDC is essential for a strong electoral performance.
He urged any members with grievances or internal conflicts to set them aside for the greater good of the party, emphasizing that only a unified front can effectively compete with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections. He stressed that overcoming these challenges is critical, as a solid and united team is vital for securing victory.
Hon. Haruna Mahama also made an appeal to local and regional executives, branch leaders, and all NDC supporters to come together, work tirelessly, and prioritize the party’s goals. He noted that, although NDC Insight is in its early stages, the group is already making a tangible impact and is determined to continue strengthening its presence in the coming months.
The launch of NDC Insight is a significant step in the NDC’s campaign strategy, as the group focuses on mobilizing young voters and enhancing the party’s influence at the grassroots level.
