I’d Be Too Ashamed to Campaign if I Were in the NPP – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has voiced his surprise that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is still actively campaigning despite what he describes as their “devastating” impact on the country.

Speaking at a rally in Ehiamankyene, located in the Krachi West constituency, during his two-day tour of the Oti Region, John Mahama criticized the ruling party for what he sees as severe economic mismanagement.

“I am genuinely shocked that the NPP can campaign with a straight face after the economic damage they’ve inflicted,” Mr. Mahama remarked.

“If I were in the NPP, I’d be too embarrassed to ask for votes, given the state of the economy. But they press on—without shame because they don’t know shame.”

Reflecting on his previous term, John Mahama stated that his administration laid a foundation for growth and stability, which he believes the NPP has since dismantled.

He urged voters to consider the NDC as a reliable alternative focused on sustainable development.

“The NDC has always prioritized progress and prosperity. We should be given the opportunity to steer the nation back on track,” he asserted.

John Mahama accused the NPP of using false promises to win the 2016 and 2020 elections, urging Ghanaians not to fall for similar tactics again.

“This December, let’s reject a party that has repeatedly misled the people,” he urged. “The NDC stands ready to reset the economy and move the country forward.”
