We want Peace, but we won’t allow anyone to cheat us – John Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has assured Ghanaians that while the NDC is committed to peace, they will not allow themselves to be cheated in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the audience as a special guest at the 42nd-anniversary celebration of Yejiwura Pimampim Yaw Kabrese V in Yeji, John Mahama emphasized that the NDC’s dedication to peace is well-known but stressed they would stand firm to ensure a fair and transparent election.

“The NDC has always been a party of peace; everyone knows this. But that doesn’t mean we will sit back and allow ourselves to be cheated in the name of peace,” Mr. Mahama stated.

He called on NDC supporters to remain vigilant during the December elections, encouraging everyone to act as polling agents to help ensure the integrity of the vote.

“We need to be vigilant to guarantee a free and fair election. By God’s grace, if the election is fair, the NDC will win. Let’s all return to our polling stations by 5:00 PM and witness the results. Anyone with a camera phone should record the EC’s declaration as evidence, so the results cannot be altered,” he advised.

John Mahama reassured the Chiefs and residents of Yeji that any disturbances during the election would not come from the NDC, as they are confident in their victory.

“If there is any chaos during the elections, it will certainly not come from the NDC. We want peace because we are confident of winning without resorting to violence,” he affirmed.
