The Alliance For Civic Action warmly congratulates the people of Ghana for the wisdom, courage, and patriotism demonstrated in the 2024 General Elections, culminating in the victory and swearing-in of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
This historic transition represents not only a democratic success, but a collective national decision to restore hope, stability, and inclusive development. The return of President Mahama rekindled confidence among citizens, investors, and development partners, offering immediate relief to millions of Ghanaians who yearned for economic recovery and competent governance.
Within just one year of leadership in 2025, Ghana has recorded significant and measurable progress across key sectors of the economy. The nation has experienced improved macroeconomic stability, a sustained reduction in inflation, relative exchange rate stability, and a strong appreciation of the Ghana Cedi, reflecting renewed confidence in fiscal and monetary management.
Notably, the government has demonstrated firm commitment to responsible natural resource governance, particularly through reforms in gold management under the Gold Board, ensuring transparency, value retention, and national benefit. Strong strides have also been made in environmental protection, with renewed action against illegal mining (galamsey), safeguarding water bodies, farmlands, and future livelihoods.
Infrastructure development has regained momentum, with visible road rehabilitation, expansion projects, and public works, stimulating economic activity, improving connectivity, and creating jobs across the country.
Beyond policy and projects, Ghana’s peaceful democratic transition has once again positioned the nation as a beacon of stability and democracy on the global stage, enhancing our international credibility and diplomatic standing.
As citizens, we remain hopeful and optimistic. The achievements of 2025 have laid a solid foundation for accelerated growth, job creation, industrial expansion, youth empowerment, social protection, and long-term economic resilience in the years ahead.
The Alliance For Civic Action calls on all Ghanaians to remain united, peaceful, and committed to nation-building. Development thrives in unity, and progress is sustained through collective responsibility.
