Manhyia Palace Holds Historic Joint Peace Meeting Between Kusasis and Mamprusis

Ghana’s entertainment and media space has been buzzing with positive energy as a remarkable moment unfolded at the Manhyia Palace today.

In a truly historic development, both factions in the long-standing Bawku conflict—the Kusasis and the Mamprusis—sat together face to face for the very first time during the ongoing mediation chaired by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

This final sitting marked a dramatic shift from previous sessions, where Otumfuo met each group separately. Today, however, he brought both sides into one room, allowing them to speak openly, respectfully, and directly in each other’s presence.

Represented by their paramount chiefs and legal teams, the two groups showed readiness for a peaceful future—an image many Ghanaians have been waiting to witness.

Entertainment personalities, media houses, and social commentators have praised the development, calling it “a powerful moment of unity” and “a major step toward permanent peace in the north.”

Sources indicate that after hearing both sides extensively, the Asantehene will now prepare his official report to the President.

The President and Otumfuo are expected to convene a final joint meeting with the factions—a move many believe will seal the path to lasting peace in Bawku.

As the country watches with hope, today’s events serve as a reminder of Ghana’s strength in dialogue, unity, and tradition.

God bless our homeland Ghana—and make our nation great and strong. 🇬🇭
