The Member of Parliament for Adansi Akrofuom Constituency, Hon. Joseph Azumah has dismissed claims by the Minority and opposition that the government is insensitive to Ghanaians’ plaguing economic situation.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Azumah argued that the John Mahama-led NDC government has provided more relief to Ghanaians than the previous administration. He cited the removal of several taxes, including the e-levy and betting tax, which has increased disposable income for citizens.
Hon. Azumah highlighted the significant difference in funding allocations to the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) between the two administrations.
“In 2024, the last year of the former NPP administration, funding to the MMDCE was less than a quarter of what this administration has provided,” he said. This, he argued, demonstrates the NDC’s commitment to developing Ghana.
Azumah emphasized that the current administration is working tirelessly to improve the lives of Ghanaians, contrary to the opposition’s claims.
