2025 UNITY CUP: Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi Missing as Nigeria Name Tournament Squad

The Nigeria Football Federation has unveiled the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming Unity Cup, with several high-profile players missing from the lineup.

Among those absent are Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey, while Felix Agu will only be participating in training sessions.

Their exclusion presents an opportunity for emerging talents and home-based players to showcase their abilities ahead of crucial qualifiers.

The Unity Cup, a four-team competition, will take place at the G-Tech Community Stadium in Brentford, featuring Nigeria, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. The tournament is scheduled to run from May 27 to May 31.

Premier League midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka lead the charge in the center of the park, while Kelechi Iheanacho, Samuel Chukwueze, and Moses Simon provide experience in attack.

The squad also welcomes promising talents such as Nathan Tella, Cyriel Dessers, and standout performers from the domestic league, including Amas Obasogie and Junior Nduka.

Meanwhile, Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad for the tournament next week.
