2025 AFCON QUALIFIERS: Otto Addo calls for fans support ahead of Sudan clash

Back Stars head coach, Otto Addo, addressed the media on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of their crucial doubleheader against Sudan.

With the team under pressure following poor start to in the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Addo called for unity and support from the fans.

“I hope the fans will support us. We have a lot of young players and we need the support,” Addo said, acknowledging the frustrations from supporters over recent performances. Ghana currently sits third in Group F, with just one point from two matches.

The Black Stars have to win against in both legs to up their chances of qualifying to the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.

The first leg will be hosted at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, with the return fixture scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, in Benina, Libya. These matches were initially set for October 11 and 14 but were rescheduled to allow for better preparations.
