The Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Region have seized fake ballot papers from a private residence in the Kwadaso constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The police received an Intel from the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Joseph Yamin.
According to Mr. Yamin, his office received a tip-off on Friday, December 6, that some thumb – printed ballot papers in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were being transported to the Ashanti Region.
Mr Yamin indicated that he left spies in his constituency to monitor the case after he was unable to locate where the papers were transported. Fortunately, the spies provided a hint in relation to the whereabout of the ballot papers .
Speaking about the authenticity of the Intercepted ballot papers, Mr. Yamin said they had opened some of the boxes containing the consignment and confirmed that “It is the exact copy of what we are using in the voting right now”.
He added that 50 ballot booklets fell out from one of the boxes after they opened it.
Mr. Yamin indicated the NPP are only confident of breaking the eight because they are stepping on something. He emphasised the NPP can only break the eight through rigging.
