Hello good evening and welcome to the LIVE coverage of the the finals of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations clash between Ghana and Nigeria.

17:42- We are about 15 minutes away from kickoff from the new Cape Coast Stadium. It’s Ghana vs Nigeria

17:44- Earlier today, Niger beat Benin 2-1 in third place game.

1′-Ghana have started the game Sharper than they did in the semifinals win against Niger on Thursday.

13′-Free kick to Nigeria but Okpotu’s poor ball is cleared by Vincent Atinga.

16′-Yellow card: Vincent Atinga recieved the first booking of the night after he tucked the shot of Okpotu. Free kick to Nigeria.

18′- Good run by Kwame Kizito as he took on two defenders but his shot ricochet off Aniyikaye Adeleyi.

20′-Ghana are keeping the ball nicely but at this moment there’s nothing to show for it.

23′-OFFSIDE: Stephen Sarfo is caught offside after he mistimed his run to meet Kizito’s flick on pass.

25′-YELLOW CARD: John Friday is shown a yellow card for a foul on Winful Cobbinah. Danger is looming.

27′-FREE KICK: Winful Cobbinah whips in a nice cross but the ball is headed to corner.

30′- Chance for Nigeria but Rabiu Ali’s shot deflects off Samuel Sarfo to corner.

33′-Save: Goalkeeper Ezenwa Ikechukwu pulls a great save to deny Isaac Twum. Stephen Sarfo makes a run to tap in the rebound but he’s been flagged offside.

38′-The game is halted as Adeleye is lying on the turf with pain. It seems he hasn’t recovered from the knock he suffered in the game.

39′-SUBSTITUTION: Adeleye could not continue again as he’s been replaced with Ariwachukwu Emmanuel.

43′-Free kick to Ghana as John hacks down Thomas Abbey.

43′-GOOOOOOOOOAL: Stephan Sarfo put Ghana ahead with a clinical finish after he cooly controlled the ball on the edge of the box and fires in a low shot. No chance for Ezenwa Ikechukwu.

Half time: Ghana have been impressive in this match than all the previous games in the competition. The Black Stars have attacked with pace and defended with grit as the Super Eagles are finding it difficult to create any clear cut chance bar Rabiu Ali’s 30th minute strike which deflected off Samuel Sarfo. It’s been a great game thus far. Stay tuned for the second stanza.

45′-Welcome back for the second half.

46′-SUBSTITUTION: John Friday is being replaced by Gabriel Okechukwu.

49′-The Super Eagles have commenced the second half on the front foot as search for an early minute equalizer.

68′-SUBSTITUTION: Ahmed Adams replaces the impressive Kwame Kizito.

70′-SUBSTITUTION: Okpotu’s job in the game is done as he’s replaced by Kingsley Eduwo.

73′-Show boating from Patrick Razak to the delight of the spectators.

76′-PENALTY: Ghana awarded another penalty as Patrick Razak is tripped down by Stephen Eze.

77′-GOOOOOOOOOAL!  Stephen Sarfo makes it 3-0 for the Black Stars. Impressive.

81′-SUBSTITUTION: Two-goal hero Stephen Sarfo paves way for Felix Addo.

90′-RED CARD: Vincent Atinga receives his second booking of the game for a sliding challenge on Ali.

93′-GOOOOOOOOAL! Winful Cobbinah gets hi name on the score sheet after he was set up by Patrick Razak.

95′-GOOOOOOOOAL! Nigeria pulls one back as Rabiu Ali perfect inched free kick beats Joseph Addo at his near post.

It’s all over as Senegal referee Daouda Gueye whistles for the end of the game.
