Gideon Aryeequaye Appointed Ag. Executive Secretary of Creative Arts Agency by President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed seasoned broadcaster and tourism expert Gideon Aryeequaye as the Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency (CAA).

This appointment marks a significant shift in leadership, as Aryeequaye succeeds Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, who has helmed the agency since its inception in 2020.

Aryeequaye’s extensive background in media and tourism positions him as a strategic choice to spearhead the “Black Star Experience” agenda—a visionary initiative aimed at amplifying Ghana’s cultural, artistic, and tourism sectors.

His tenure as Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) under President Mahama’s previous administration is expected to infuse fresh dynamism into the CAA’s endeavors.

The Creative Arts Agency serves as the cornerstone for structuring and nurturing Ghana’s creative industry. The Executive Secretary, appointed by the President, is entrusted with the agency’s daily operations, ensuring alignment with the mandates outlined in the Creative Industry Act (1048).

Aryeequaye’s appointment has been met with widespread enthusiasm across social media platforms. Industry stakeholders and the general public alike have expressed optimism, anticipating a revitalized era for Ghana’s creative arts landscape under his stewardship.

As Aryeequaye steps into this pivotal role, the creative community eagerly awaits the innovative strategies and programs that will emerge, all aimed at propelling Ghana’s rich cultural heritage onto the global stage.
