We owe suppliers over GHC 4.5million- Administrator, Ankaful psychiatric Hospital

Mr. Godwin Pongo, the administrator for the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital has stated that their inability to run the hospital is as a result of huge depths owed suppliers for over four years.

According to him, this has made most suppliers halt providing the hospital with the needed items for its smooth running.

He was speaking in a telephone interview on Ahotor FM’s morning show, hosted by Emmanuel Quarshie (Hit man), on Tuesday 22nd August, 2017.

“Some suppliers continue supplying just because they have the interest of the psychiatric patients at heart”

“For now the situation is so critical that these few suppliers sustaining the hospital are not willing to provide food for the hospital again”

“The situation is such that if the hospital do not receive any support from government within the next 30 days, we will be forced to discharge all our patients, because we will not be able to feed them, cloth them and provide them with other logistics” He stated.

Mr. Pongo continued by stating that the government’s inability to support the hospital has caused a lot of inconvenience thus the need for massive support.

He called on the government, Nongovernmental Organizations and the general public to come to their aid.

It can be recalled that the Psychiatric Hospital served notice of their intention to send home more than 100 patients on Monday 21st August, 2017.
