We are solidly behind Mahama – Apaak

The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, has expressed his happiness and joy at the decision by former president John Dramani to contest as presidential candidate when the party gives the green light for interested candidates to contest.

The former presidential staffer who was one of the individuals who was mounting pressure on the former president to contest, in a post described the decision by Mr. Mahama as a good one.

Dr. Apaak in his post said: ‘’JM Thank You – On my own behalf and that of the many millions of Ghanaians, especially the rank and file of the Great NDC party, I wish to profusely thank JM for hearing our cries to offer himself to lead the NDC and to be our flagbearer for election 2020. ‘’

Describing Mr. Mahama as a servant leader he posited: ‘’Indeed, as a servant leader who draws strength and inspiration from God and from the masses, he has demonstrated his humility by heeding our call.’’ He added: ‘’ We are extremely excited and overjoyed to know that he has listened to us, consulted and has assured us that he will not disappoint us.

We continue to pray for him and also assure him of our unflinching support. God bless!’’ The former president in his post said: ‘’ I want to congratulate the rank & file and executives of our party, the NDC, at all levels for the commitment and work rate we have put into our reorganization efforts.

The zeal and determination of the average sympathizer of our great party is greater and miles ahead of what it was after the December 2016 Elections. We need to keep up with the momentum generated and follow the published timelines.

To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected.

I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader.’’
