Video: With support, DJ Switch can be best in the world – DJ Black

One of Africa’s best DJs, DJ Black is very optimistic that young DJ, DJ Switch has the potential to be the best in Africa and the world.

According to DJ Black, the 9-year-old is pure talent and can reach higher heights if given the needed support.

After 13 weeks of competition, Erica Tandoh, popularly known as DJ Switch, emerged winner of the 8th season of TV3’s children’s reality show, Talented Kidz.

Beating seven others at the grand finale at the National Theatre, Sunday, the young DJ received a cash prize of GH¢10,000 and educational fund of GH¢6,000 and products and souvenirs from sponsors.

Talented duo, Naquel won GH¢8,000 cash prize, educational fund, products and souvenirs from sponsors for emerging second while. The third place went to Christian Morgan, a 12-year-old pupil of the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind in the Central Region.

Ahead of Sunday’s finale, DJ Black, who hosts Weekend Warmer and Open House Party on Joy FM, had a special prep session with DJ Switch last Thursday.
An elated DJ Black told Myjoyonline.com that he noticed the 9-year-old DJ was “sharp” and really “eager to learn.”

Winning the Ghana DJ Awards’ Best DJ award on four consecutive occasions, DJ Black said DJ Switch’s “future is very bright.”

With DJing, as a full-time profession still sinking in with Ghanaians, the multiple award-winning DJ urged the young DJ’s parents to give her the needed support to succeed.

He said they “should support her to the max. If she remains passionate, she should get the support of everyone.”
