The 19th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is coming on today, 14th April 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre. With the biggest Music Industry awards ceremony set for tonight, Moderghana.com highlights all you need to know relating to the awards.
One interesting development is the fact that Charterhouse, the organizers of the awards has put behind their differences with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and he has had numerous nominations for this years awards.
The taking over hit maker who had a fallen out with organizers, charter house, is now back after missing out from the awards show for a few years.
This year’s VGMA will see heavyweight artistes Sarkodie, stonebwouy, samini and Joe Mettle performing live. As well as performances from Efya, Fancy Gadam, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, MzVee, and King Promise. Ghanaians who will find their ways to the Accra International Conference Centre will in addition be thrilled with entertaining performances from Nigerian Diva, Tiwa Savage and South African rapper Nasty C.
Rapper Sarkodie has the most nominations this year with nine personal nominations, followed by Joe Mettle with seven. Whiles Shatta Wale, Ebony, and Kidi had six nominations each.
It is believed any awards that will go to bereaved Dancehall artiste Ebony, will be given to his management.
Bella Mundi of Gh one Tv and popular Ghanaian Actor, John Dumelo will be hosting this year’s show.
