Two shot in Mobile Money robbery attack in Accra

Some armed robbers fired shots during an attack on a Mobile Money vendor in the area.

The incident was reported to have happened on Thursday at around 8:00 PM. Two suspected robbers besieged a Mobile Money joint at Busia Junction and ordered the vendor to hand over all her money.

However, the vendor rejected their advances and shouted for help after taking to her heels. The robbers then decided to fire warning shots, but ended up injuring two persons who, at the time of the incident, were at the Mobile Money joint to conduct business.

One of the victims had his bag stolen during the attack, with the other also left unconscious after receiving a bullet to his rib.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital by onlookers, after the police delayed in their arrival. Meanwhile, a similar robbery attack was witnessed at Sahara in Dansoman and it appears Mobile Money joints have now become the target of robbers in recent times.
