There’s no doubt we are retaining power in 2020–Muntaka.

The Member of Parliament for Asawase Constituency in the ashanti region, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, says the NDC is retaining power in 2020 despite the irregularities that happened in the course of the party’s constituency election held at Asawase on Saturday.

He also hinted that the Party can only retain power if they are United and disposed unnecessary feud among the rank and file and grassroots respectively.

The Member of Parliament for the area who is also the minority chief whip was in the constituency to ascertain how the elections were being conducted.

Though there were recorded cases of hitches and scuffles among some contending candidates, Hon. Muntaka explained that, those irregularities were normal and there was no cause for alarm.

He further stressed and advised delegates and aspirants to eschewed bitterness and bickering in the course of the exercise and prepare  towards the coveted crown in 2020.

An investigation piece conducted by this platform can authenticate that, the elections in the region went on smoothly and many youthful executives were elected in some constituencies to steer the affairs of the party in Ashanti region which according to political watchers gives a spectacle of hostility towards the main opposition National Democratic Congress.
But a cross section of elected aspirants have vowed to wither the storm ahead of 2020 and give the NDC a new beginning and a voice in championing the idles and pillars of the party. They posited further that, they remained unperturbed and unfazed by the strength of the governing New Patriotic Party which have an upper hand and numerical advantage over each successive election year. The NDC is voting to elect constituency executives to steer the affairs of the party in all the 49 constituencies in the region, respectively.
