Ridge Hospital reopens today

The Ridge Hospital now Greater Accra Regional Hospital is expected to be fully operational and reopened to the public from today, Monday, 22 May.

The ultra-modern facility, which was supposed to have been opened to the public on Wednesday, 17 May after the official inauguration ceremony was closed to the public.

The hospital authorities attributed the closure to the need to sanitise the facility after it was toured by Health Minister Kweku Agyeman-Manu and members of the public.

Head of administration at the hospital, Emmanuel Taadi, told Class News the facility will be operational today.

“The fact of the matter is that the Minister of Health cut the tape for the hospital to be opened on Wednesday and after everything, there were a lot of people who went inside to look at the building and to see all the modern gadgets that were fitted inside.

“The following day, which was 18 May, we had to meet with the project managers to finalise the complete handing over arrangement. At the meeting, it was agreed that because of the number of the volume of people who went into the building, for infection prevention purpose, they would clean the hospital thoroughly and make sure that the things are put back and make sure they are where they are supposed to be before they hand the hospital over to us for patient admission. And, so, from Monday we have the go ahead and patient activity will take place.”
