Report Police dispatch riders who render private service –DSP. OBENG

Director of Education, Training and Research of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service, DSP ALEXANDER OBENG has charged the public never to hesitate to report to the appropriate authority of the police administration  should they come across any police dispatch rider who escorts an individual irrespective of his or her position for either money or favour.

According him, police dispatch riders are specially trained for special duties to serve the country such as easing huge motor traffics on our roads as well as paving ways for higher authorities in the country and also  diplomatic visitors. This however does not include private individuals, irrespective of their standing in society or wealth.

DSP OBENG speaking to Ahotor News in an interview  warned, possible culprits would be ruthlessly dealt with after thorough investigations are conducted by the Services and the truth uncovered.

This is because such practices contravenes the law of the land as well as that of the noble security service.

“It is totally unacceptable to use the state motorcade assigned for official purposeful  duties for one’s selfish interest.

The public is hereby advice to take the number of the suspected bike’s registration number and hurriedly report the matter to the appropriate channel for  swift investigation.

The officer in question can be easily and quickly  identified since he is only assigned to that particular bike without a duplicated registration number”. Mr.Obeng revealed.

The MTTD Executive’s comments come on the back of Ahotor News investigative checks that uncovers some dispatch police riders leading some business moguls out of heavy  motor traffics in the nation’s capital.
