Pregnant woman smashed to death on the Accra- Kumasi road

A  trailer has knocked down a heavily pregnant woman at Bunso, in the Eastern Region, on the Kumasi-Accra road, over the weekend.

The driver of the vehicle which smashed the said pregnant woman and her unborn baby beyond recognition has since absconded.

Narrating the sad story to Ahotor News, Hajj Dean, a sports presenter with Ahotor sports, who happened to have been an eye witness to the accident narrates that the said accident occurred when the deceased was attempting to cross the major Highway to the other end of the road.

The woman, according to Dean, was smashed beyond recognition. The police had to shovel her mortal remains, which has since been deposited at the Kyebi mortuary.

Meanwhile several attempts by the Ahotor News to get the appropriate authorities to comment on the extent of their investigations on this matter have proven futile.

The Accra –Kumasi road has over the years claimed several lives due to irresponsible driving   and inadequate speed ramps on the stretch.
